THE Listowel Hire and Repair Centre is located at the front of Cliveragh Industrial Estate where it has kept things ticking over soundly by the Ballylongford Road for over eight years. Proprietor, John Healy, is proud of his business and its location and whether it’s machinery, power tools or garden equipment - John’s your man. In fact, John also does bicycle repairs, something that hit a bit of a slump before to the recent surge in ‘bicycle mania’ that gripped the county. So if you’re a keen cyclists, be sure to keep this in mind the next time your bike hits a snag.
Another tidy edge to Listowel Hire’s business is grass cutting and lawn maintenance in places like schools, housing estates and sports clubs. Listowel Hire have all the equipment at their disposal and it’s worth giving them a call next time the lawns are in need of some upkeep. John is also a keen believer in advertising the business all year round in local media and newspapers and is a sponsor of GAA and other sports clubs - including local events like The Sean McCarthy Festival in Finuge, held during the August Weekend.
“There’s a lot going on here and it’s a very positive location within walking distance from town. Our main focus is on rental of power tools and also compact machinery like diggers, dumpers, rollers. We also cater for height access as we have ‘cherry pickers’ for rental. Lawnmowers and bicycle repairs are also popular, as are sales in power tools which we carry out all ancillary repairs,” explained John.
He continued: “Clieveragh is a great location. It’s close to town in a long established industrial estate which is adjacent to the busy Ballylongford Road. I’m situated right at the front of the estate facing onto the main road and I’m eight years’ operating at Cliveragh. There’s also many complimentary businesses here such as a tyre and motor centre nearby and I’ve dealt with these businesses with tool hire at various stages.
