Anthony Morris Fund – Milltown/ Castlemaine GAA under-10 Blitz is on this Sunday, August 21 – beginning at 11 a.m. in Milltown Castlemaine GAA Grounds. Teams are 11 a side. There will be four groups of four – with each team guaranteed three games in Phase 1.
Top team in each group qualify for Section A semi-finals;
second place qualify for Section B semi-finals
third place teams – Sec- tion C semi-finals
fourth place – Section D semi-finals.
This guarantees each team four games.
We are sure that all teams will enjoy what in essence is a fun day for budding GAA enthusiasts.
More importantly, all proceeds from the day’s activities will be given to the Anthony Morris Fund. Anthony, the former Spa, East Kerry and Kerry player, is currently receiving treatment for Lyme’s Disease in America.
There will be refreshments and fun activities on the day. Let’s all play our part in raising as much money as possible for Anthony.
Leaving Cert Results: Congratulations to all our footballers who will by now have received their Leaving Cert results. Some of you will be thrilled and some will – no doubt – be disappointed.
Everything will be alright in the end. So ‘if it’s not alright – then it’s not the end’
Nuptials: Best wishes to our senior player Paul Carroll on his forthcoming nuptials to Cora O’Connor. Wishing you both much health and happiness.
M/C under-16: Well done to the under-16s on a great performance versus Rathmore on Wednesday evening last. Final score: M/C 3/15 Rathmore: 2/11. This secures them a place in the semi-finals. There is much credit due to David Heasman and his panel of players for progressing to this stage of the competition. Keep up the good work.
Senior County League Road 10: Our senior players-sponsored by Sheehy Brothers, secured a draw against Castleisland Desmonds – -on Saturday evening last in Castleisland.
Well done to the bainisteóir-Mike Hickey and his roghnóirí – -Timmie Teahan, and Mike Carroll.

Revised dressing room/sideline guidelines: Please note that under age players are not permitted inside the dressing rooms prior to or after a senior game or inside the surrounding fence wire when a senior game is ongoing. This is to protect all parties involved. We ask parents and guardians to continually remind their children of this rule which will be strictly enforced. We appreciate your ongoing support and cooperation.
Appropriate Football Gear: Can all underage team managers, trainers/coaches please ensure that all players representing Milltown/ Castlemaine are dressed in club colours (Green and White socks and togs.) This is to avoid any inconvenience prior to games.
We would also ask parents/ guardians of players to inform their children of this County Board Rule.
Important Information regarding tickets for All-Ireland semi-finals: Please ensure you order your tickets early.
Tickets will be distributed during the week – prior to the game. Prices as follows: Hogan Stand (No Concession) – €40 Cusack Stand – €40 Terrace – €25 Family tickets: Family Tickets – Cusack and Davin Stands Adults – €40 Juveniles – €5 Students and Senior Citizens (Cusack and Davin Stand Only): Purchase full price tickets and get rebate of €10 with valid ID at Block D, Stiles one to five in the Cusack Stand (Rebate can only be claimed on entry into the stadium via BLOCK D) Wheelchair Tickets: The Wheelchair Ticket and Assistant’s ticket is €40 Group and Club Pass. Group pass – Juveniles under-16 €3 each (you are permitted to bring one adult free with every 10 Juveniles) any additional adults pay full price for their tickets. Club Pass for adults – €10.
