Mayor’s welcome

-

AS Mayor of Tralee I am thrilled to welcome you to the Rose of Tralee International Festival 2016.

The highlight of the social, community and cultural calendar is upon us once more, a time when the people of Tralee showcase what is best about their wonderful town and extend the traditional ‘Céad Míle Fáilte’ to those visiting the festival.

A special welcome to the Roses who are once again gathering from the four corners of the globe to enchant us with their charm and elegance and to relish the experience of representing their part of the world for their year as Roses.

It’s a tremendously exciting time for The Rose of Tralee International Festival with an extended and expanded programme in place for this year as well as plans for the development of a permanent centre to accommodate the Rose Selection and other events.

I want to acknowledge the enormous efforts of countless volunteers who work behind the scenes to make this wonderful festival a reality.

In 2016, as in every other year, Kerry County Council’s Municipal District Office in Tralee and its dedicated staff have worked and will work to ensure visitors have an enjoyable time here in Tralee.

I hope you have a wonderful time over the coming week.

Mayor of Tralee, Cllr Terry O’Brien
