- By AMY REIDY

HIGH glamour was the order of the night at the annual Rose of Tralee Fashion Show with high street and designer brands dominating both the catwalk and the stylish audience.

The fashion was second to none and would have challenged any evening on the red carpet as reigning Rose of Tralee, Elysha Brennan, scoped the dome for the most fashionable lady.

It was, to no surprise, a Castleisland woman who eventually claimed the much coveted title as Cáit Browne stunned Elysha and her assistant, Karen Scanlan, in a cream trouser suit.

Cáit was awarded a luxury break for two in the Killashee Hotel in Kildare along with a personal shopping experience at Kildare Village complete with a €500 voucher and €500 worth of jewellery from the Rose of Tralee International Festival’s lead sponsor, Tipperary Crystal.

There was more competition at this year’s show with the introduction of a Young Student Designer of the Year Award with students from every design college in Ireland competing for the €500 cash prize and trophy sponsored by Cathriona’s Hair Group.

It was a momentous occasion for Sarah Murphy of Griffith College who claimed the coveted accolade with two stunning outfits designed especially for the occasion.

It was, of course, Celia Holman Lee who stole the show as the 65 year-old strutted down the catwalk beside her beautiful models adding to the pizazz and wow factor of the entire evening.

The night finished with an after-show party in the adjoining pavilion dome which featured the silky sounds of Franky Bublé and a popular photo booth where many seized the opportunity to catch some memories of such a memorable evening.
