DEATH

Catherine (Kathleen) O’Shea of Octive died peacefully in St Anne’s Hospital Caherciveen on Sunday, August 14, in her 93rd year. Her remains were removed from the Fitzgerald Funeral Home to St Finian’s Church on Monday evening and received by Fr Martin Sheehan PP Caherdaniel who celebrated her Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Marion O’Neill sang at Mass. She was laid to rest in Dromid Cemetery. Pre-deceased by her sister Nora and twin brothers Finn and Mick. Kathleen is survived by her niece Kathleen, Curran family Toor and Curran family Octive, Noel Broderick, neighbours and friends to whom we offer our sincere sympathy. CHARLIE CHAPLIN COMEDY FILM FESTIVAL

CABLE STATION TALK

On Saturday, August 27, at 5 p.m. in Tech Amergin there will be an Informal talk on the history of Waterville Cable Station followed by walking tour of the cable station weather permitting. Admission free

DIPLOMA IN TEACHING IRISH

Adult Learners, Part time through the Language Centre Maynooth University. Entrance assessment will be held in Killarney on Saturday, September 10. There will be an exam and interview on the same day as well as information on the structure of the course. Further information 066 9474888.

CULTURE NIGHT 2016

There will be a book Launch ‘Traditional Music of Iveragh’ which has been compiled by Peter Mullarkey on behalf of Comhchoiste Gaeltacht Uíbh Ráthaigh.
