There’s only one week remaining to avail of our great summer offer. Join our gym before the end of August and get three months of membership for the price of two months. Our bouncy castle is still available to hire for birthday parties or just to entertain the kids on a wet day. The cost is €35 per hour for a minimum of two hours. This includes use of the sportshall and all of our new games and sports equipment, as well as use of the kitchen if required.

FESTIVAL

There was record attendance at the Chamber Music Festival held on Valentia over the weekend of August 19 to August 21, despite foul weather. This was the third year of the festival and with performances by talented and internationally renowned musicians and singers at more venues, it is fast becoming the Glyndebourne of the wild west of Ireland. Glanleam House, the ancestral home of the Knight’s of Kerry, hosted two Concerts this year, with Recitals at the Lighthouse and the Lifeboat Station

The pretty Gothic Church of Saint John the Baptist, the original home of the festival, hosted a further Concert featuring the work of one of Irelands great composers, Ernest J Moeran, who lived in Knightstown. Plans are already under way for next year’s festival.
