Kerry graduates join ESB scheme
FOUR Kerry graduates have joined a prestigious ESB three-year Development Programme.
Peter Murphy from Rathmore; Sinclair Dowey from Tralee; Orla Griffin from Caherslee and Barry Bambury from Dingle have just commenced a three-year ESB Graduate Development programme.
They form part of a cohort of 76 graduates from Irish third level institutions, spanning fields of engineering, IT, HR, marketing, trading and finance.
The Graduate Development Programme is a tailored three year programme which will see these graduates develop both professionally and personally. It forms part of an ambitious drive by ESB to recruit the brightest talent from third level institutions.
This year’s graduates will be placed across five business units – ESB International, ESB Networks, Generation and Wholesale Markets, Business Services Centre and Electric Ireland – in the coming years.
The Kerry foursome were welcomed into the programme by ESB CEO Pat O’Doherty, ESB Managing Director Marguerite Sayers and Communications Minister Denis Naughten.
“Energy use impacts on every area of our daily lives and how we dramatically reduce our carbon consumption is one of the defining issues facing humanity. As Ireland’s foremost energy company, ESB is committed to offering a rewarding and dynamic career path for exceptional people interested in meeting the challenges of the coming decades,” said Mr O’Doherty in his welcome address to the graduates.
“Our 76 new colleagues will play an important part in building this brighter, more sustainable future. Working across diverse business units in hands-on roles, I have no doubt that they will enhance our culture of collaboration and teamwork, as ESB seeks to remain at the forefront of energy innovation,” Mr O’Doherty said.
Minister Naughten described the group as 76 of Ireland’s brightest graduates.
