U12 NATIONAL CUP MASTERGEEH­A 4 ENNIS TOWN 5. In this high scoring game Mastergeeh­a were unlucky not to go through to the next round. Sean Doolan, James Williams, Eoin Kelly and Kealan O’Shea got the goals.

U14 MASTERGEEH­A 1 KILLARNEY CELTIC 1. In their first game in the premier division the boys had tough battle in this local derby. In the opening half Mastergeeh­a created the better chances with Cian Foley and Brendan O Leary going close. In the second half the boys took the lead mid-way through when Cillian O Brien scored with a good free kick. However with 5 minutes remaining the visitors equalised. All played well.

U16 NATIONAL CUP KNOCKAINEY 2 MASTERGEEH­A 4

Away in Limerick on Saturday the boys had to battle all the way to ensure qualificat­ion to the next round. Dylan Murphy with a hat trick and Paul O Shea were the scorers. All involved did well.

PREM B CASTLEISLA­ND 4 MASTERGEEH­A 2.

In their first game of the season the seniors started slowly and were down 3-1 after 30 minutes with Derek Breen getting the goal. Mastergeeh­a got a further goal back just before the break when Scott O Mahoney converted from the penalty spot. In the second half Mastergeeh­a played much better and pushed forward in search of the equaliser. However with 20 minutes remaining Castleisla­nd scored. In the closing stages Mastergeeh­a went close to scoring again with efforts from Gearoid Kerins and Scott O Mahoney.

KILCUMMIN LADYBIRD UNIT

KILLARNEY LIBRARY

Kerry 1916 from the Archives is an exhibition currently running at Killarney Library which displays a collection of 1916 materials from the Kerry Library archive including newspaper extracts and original documents. The exhibition runs until Saturday 1st October during library opening hours. Free admission. All welcome.
