The Kerryman (South Kerry Edition)
Rolling back the years with TMS
TRALEE Musical Society are calling on their former members to get involved with the multi award winning society’s 30th anniversary celebrations.
The society have been keeping Tralee and indeed all of Kerry entertained since 1986 and to mark the troupe’s landmark birthday they are staging a special anniversary show in November.
TMS’ Salute to the Musicals – featuring songs and scenes from the many musicals the society has staged down the years – will run from November 15 to 17.
As well as the society’s current cast – which numbers around 60 – TMS are hoping to get as many of the society’s former members as possible involved in the celebratory show.
It’s thought there are probably around 100 former members living in and around Tralee and the society is inviting them all to get in touch and get involved.
They are particularly keen that some of the stars of TMS previous shows might reprise their roles in the upcoming anniversary production.
To that end the society held an open night at Kerins O’Rahillys GAA club last Wednesday where they encouraged past cast members to come along and find out about the upcoming show.
Of course the anniversary special isn’t the only show the society is busy preparing for.
The society’s younger members are in the final stages of rehearsals ahead of the society’s all youth production of Joseph and The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat which will be electrifying audiences at Siamsa Tíre from October 12 to 15.
All in all it’s a very busy few months for the society.
Any former members who would like to get involved in the anniversary show – or indeed anyone who is interested in joining the society – should check out the Tralee Musical Society page on Facebook where are the relevant information can be found.
