Taste buds alert as Dingle Food Festival is here again…

-

BRINGING the right ingredients together to create something special is not just about food as the same principle also applies when making the Dingle Food Festival such a successful brand. Now in its tenth year, the festival continues to attract thousands of people to Dingle to celebrate all that’s unique about a part of the world that takes pride in its locality and the fresh quality produce sourced there - foods which have been cultivated from its luscious terrains for hundreds of years.

The Dingle Food Festival takes place this year from Friday, September 30th to Sunday, October 2nd and the world-famous seaside town warmly invites you to come along and share in the experience of sampling delicious foods twinned with workshops, taste trails, cooking demos and plenty of family fun. Of course having won an award as the best foodie town in Ireland, 2014, it should come as no surprise that the people of Dingle wish to celebrate their love of food. But this festival is also an ideal opportunity for visitors to see and learn for themselves what it is that inspires local food producers, chefs, restaurants, cafes, growers, and artisans - all of whom are deeply in touch with the core concept of sourcing produce from the spectacular Dingle Peninsula.

Visitors will be spoilt for choice if feeling a little famished with local delicacies like black puddings, ice cream, cheeses, meats, breads, fresh fish from pier to plate, a local taste trail with over 80 food outlets - all designed to tempt you with their unique way of preparing and cultivating produce.

Dingle Food Festival is also organised by a voluntary committee made up of locals guided by nothing more than a love of locality and flair for food. These are just some of the essential ingredients that help keep Dingle Food Festival the best there is and this year will again see three very worthy charities benefit from a top class weekend’s fun and entertainment: Action Brest Cancer, Hope Guatemala and Kerry Hospice.

So if fine food, fun and atmosphere is your idea of the perfect weekend then why not head west to Dingle and treat yourself in Ireland’s best foodie town?
