Last call for the Science Fair

-

IT’S hoped that many more Kerry schools will take part in next year’s Primary Science Fair than did in 2016 when just three Kerry primaries entering projects.

Killahan, Firies and Spa National Schools did brilliantly at the Mary Immaculate College venue in Limerick, with pupils learning loads and gaining newfound confidence in scientific subjects.

On the back of their positive experience it is hoped much more than three Kerry primaries will take part this coming year.

But with one week left to enter schools had better move fast!

It’s the RDS Primary Science Fair Limerick to give it its full title, taking place in both the RDS and Mary I; the latter the more convenient venue for Kerry pupils, their teachers and parents. Schools have until Wednesday, October 5 next, to get their applications in, however.

“Last January we were delighted with how Limerick embraced the RDS Primary Science Fair,” RDS Chief Executive Michael Duffy said.

“Mary Immaculate proved excellent venue partners and the feedback from all involved was extremely positive. This year we are adding an extra day to the Fair to cater for even more schools from Munster to display their creative science projects.

Last year Munster schools made up 40 per cent of all schools that applied to be part of the fair.”
