The presentati­on of Certificat­es and prize packs to children who completed the Summer Reading Challenge will take at Killarney Library on Saturday 8th October at 11.30am. Certificat­es will be presented by Cllr Brendan Cronin, Cathaoirle­ach of Killarney Municipal District.

MASTERGEEH­A FC

UNDERAGE TRAINING: U8, U9 and U10 will recommence on Saturday the 1st October at 10.45am at Kilbrean Park. All welcome.

U13 NATIONAL CUP: Ballymacky 1 Mastergeeh­a 4. Away in North Tipperary on Saturday afternoon the boys qualified for the next round of the cup. Leading 2-1 at the break courtesy of goals from Darra O’Callaghan and Ryan Daly the boys pushed on to score two more goals in the second half with Oisin O’Leary and Oran Dwyer getting the goals. All played well.

U15: Nenagh 7 Mastergeeh­a 0. The lads were well beaten by a very good Nenagh side. Although the lads defended well for the first 20 mins, once the 1st goal went in the floodgates opened and it was backs against the wall for the entire game as the home side streamed forward. Darragh O’Riordan stood out for the Kilbrean boys with a great 2nd half performanc­e at right back.

PREM B: Mastergeeh­a 4 Killarney Celtic 2. In this local derby Mastergeeh­a took the lead when Scott O’Mahoney opened the scoring however the visitors got back into the game scoring two goals. Mastergeeh­a got back on level terms when Damien Breen was fouled in the box and Scott O’Mahoney scored again just before the break. In the second half the seniors took the lead early on when Gearoid Kerins scored with a good header. Mastergeeh­a doubled their lead later in the game when Derek Breen converted.

DIV 1B: Listowel Celtic 6 Mastergeeh­a 2. In this game the seniors played a strong Listowel side. Mastergeeh­a battled hard throughout with Colm Lenihan getting the goals.

There was no winner on Friday 23rd September, 2016. Numbers drawn were 6, 18, 20, 21.
