Men’s club Sunday competition was an 18 Hole Single Stableford sponsored by O Donnells Bar & Restaurant, Mouthawk, Tralee and the final qualifying round in the Autumn League: 1st Ger Fitzgibbon (15) 36 pts, 2nd John B. Griffin (17) 35 pts, 3rd Anthony Kennedy (11) 35 pts, 4th John Lohan (16) 33 pts

The team scores after the final round of the Autumn League are Team B * 385; Team G 385; Team E 384; Team J 378; Team C 377; Team O 375; Team F 374; Team A 361; Team H 302; Team I 292; Team K 238 * Team B 1st as 4th best card in final round. In the first semi final, on the morning of Oct 9th, Team B (Enda O’Halloran, Noel Gilbride, John Dineen, Padraig Dineen & Joseph O’Connor) will play Team J (Ger Lynch, Brian McGrath, Mark Culhane, Vincent Linnane, John Paul Leahy). In the second semi-final Team G (John Lohan, John Barrett, Mike Hayes, Maurice McElligott, Pat Dillane) will play Team E (John Maunsell, Declan McCann, Tomas Flaherty, Edmond Harty, Ger Fitzgibbon). The format will be one singles, 1 scotch foursomes and 1 fourball matchplay. The final will take place in the afternoon. The Autumn League is sponsored by John and Marian Barrett.

Next Sunday is the Master Classic for the Top 30 in the Golfer of the Year. There will also be a competition for the non qualifiers. Sunday’s competition is sponsored by Sean Og’s Bar, Tralee and The Blasket Bar, Tralee.

Next Sunday will also be the final competition in the Golfer of the Year. As it stand anyone down to joint sixth has a chance of winning. The current top 7 is 1. Maunsell, John 108; 2. The Singles and Fourball Matchplays were completed last week. In the Singles Matchplay Steve Neillings beat Ivan Lucid 4 & 3. This competition is sponsored by Dermot Dowling. In the Fourball Matchplay Vincent Linnane and Mark Culhane beat Maurice McElligott and Pat Dillane 2 & 1. This competition is sponsored by Tim Joe Griffin, the Old Attic Bar Ballybunion.
