DEATHS

Tim O Reilly, Surrey, England, nephew of Nora Horgan, Kilbanow, Kilgarvan, passed away last week after a brief illness. To his aunt Nora, cousins and relatives we extend our deepest Sympathy.

Breda Lynch, Cleady, Kenmare and sister of Dan and Paddy Callaghan, Kilgarvan passed away on Friday 16th September 2016. Her Funeral Mass took place on Sunday 18th September at 12 noon at Holy Cross Church, Kenmare with burial afterwards in Kilgarvan Cemetery. To her daughters Eileen, Catherine, Jacqui, Caroline, Susan and brothers Dan and Paddy we extend our deepest Sympathy.

Sarah Duggan, Cork sister of the late Pat Dillon, Church Street, Kilgarvan and wife of the late Neilie passed away on Wednesday 21st September 2016. Her Funeral Mass took place on Friday 23rd September at 11:00am in St Patricks Church Kilgarvan with burial afterwards in St Oliver’s Cemetery, Model Farm Road, Cork. To her brother Kieran, sisters Bridie, Anna and Imelda, Sister in law Bridie Dillon, relatives and friends we extend our deepest Sympathy.

LEADER FUNDING

The Leader Rural Developmen­t Programme(RDP) 2014 - 2020 will come into operation shortly. Community Clubs, Organisati­ons and Businesses are encouraged to seek funding from this programme. The RDP operates under three main themes and within these there are sub themes/categories as follows: Theme 1) Economic Developmen­t, Enterprise Developmen­t and Job Creation. The sub themes are 1a) Rural Tourism 1b) Enterprise Developmen­t 1c) Rural Towns 1d) Broadband. Theme 2) Social Inclusion. The sub themes are 2a) Basic Services Targeted at Hard to Reach Communitie­s 2b) Rural Youth. Theme 3) Rural Environmen­t. The sub themes are 3a) Protection and Sustainabl­e use of Water Resources 3b) Protection and Improvemen­t of Local Biodiversi­ty 3c) Developmen­t of Renewable Energy.

The Expression of interest form has to be completed for the first theme which is Economic Developmen­t, Enterprise Developmen­t and Job Creation before the end of October 2016 and will be dealt with in the following months. The remaining two themes have a closing date of March 2017.
