SENIOR FOOTBALL CO CHAMPIONSHIP PLAY-OFF: Kilcummin 1-15 Milltown/Castlemaine 0-15. What a difference a week makes as our players stood up to the table and with a performance to warm the heart ensured that we will remain a senior club for the twentieth year. Right from the start we went about our business with conviction and with Kieran Murphy controlling midfield we went five points up after 15min. Noel Duggan and Kevin McCarthy were outstanding and giving the opposing defence a difficult time which enabled us to lead by three points at half time. The second half was a tight affair with Kilcummins defence playing outstanding none more so than Daniel O’Leary who played a real captains part. While Oscar O’Connors well finished goal was eventually the deciding factor Philip Casey, Kevin McCarthy and Chris O’Leary made huge contributions in that second prior to the fans home with a smile on their faces and looking forward to next year already. Well done to players and management on a marvellous achievement.
