COUNTY JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP A good display by Scart fell just short when they played Fossa in the Junior Semi Final in Farranfore on Sunday last. The final score was Fossa 2-7 Scartaglen 0-7. The sides were all square at the end of the first quarter at 0-2 each. At half time the score was Fossa 1-4 Scartaglen 0-3, Fossa getting their goal in the 20th minute. Scarts points were scored by Mike Horan (0-2) and Daniel Murphy (0-1). A good start to the second half by Scart saw them scoring three points inside the first 6 minutes to bring the margin down the the bare minimum. Fossa fought back well with points in the 39th and 43rd minute and they struck for their 2nd goal at the three quarter stage when Tadhg O Shea found the net. With defences on top, scores were hard to come by with both sides managing just a single point in the final quarter. This game brought the curtain down on Scarts season and whilst they failed in their bid to reach the final, they gave it their all and nobody can do more than that.
