Glenbeigh NS began their Allianz Cumann na mBunscol 4/5 teacher schools’ competition with a 3 point win over neighbours Glounaguillagh NS in glorious sunshine in Glenbeigh GAA pitch on Tuesday. Glenbeigh started well but Glounaguillagh kicked some good scores to lead by 2-5 to 3-1 at halftime. An early goal gave Glenbeigh the lead and after a very exciting second half, and some outstanding saves by goalkeeper Seán Scannell, Glenbeigh emerged victorious on a scoreline of 6-6 to 4-9.

CARERS SUPPORT MEETING
The next Carers Support Meeting will take place in the Glenbeigh Hotel lobby on Thursday 6th October at 2p.m. All carers and anyone involved in caring for persons in their home are welcome to attend.
HANDBALL CLUB
Congratulations to Dominick Lynch and J.J. Quirke on winning the All-Ireland 60 by 30 over 35 A Doubles title. They gave a great display in defeating Vinnie Moran and Paul Flynn Co. Mayo 21-4 21-11 at Hospital, Co. Limerick.

Stephanie Doyle, Curraheen, Glenbeigh and Ronald Whyte, Dublin who were married in St. James Church, Glenbeigh Gods blessing, health and happiness to both couples.
ROAD GRANTS AND SIGNS
Councillor Michael Cahill has welcomed funding of E50,000 for resurfacing the Gowlane road and €20,000 for the Treanmanagh/Kerry Way road Glenbeigh. The Local Councillor said he is delighted with the funding and work is to commence in the coming days. Councillor Cahill has also allocated €2,000 towards the provision of 9 Community Text Alert Signs in Glenbeigh, Glencar and Cromane.
DEATH
Sympathy is extended to the relatives of Kathy (Donal) O Sullivan (nee Clifford) Ballycleave and Curraheen, Glenbeigh and New York. who died in New York. Interment will take place in Ballinakilla Cemetary, Glenbeigh
