COMMUNITY GAMES AGM

The Glenflesk Community Games Committee would like to thank all the children, their parents and mentors who participated in the Community Games in 2016. Once again we had huge interest with girls and boys participating in Art, Athletics, Basketball, Chess, Cycling, Futsal, Gaelic Football, Handwriting, Indoor Soccer, Judo, Music, Projects, Recitation, Singing, Swimming and the Quiz. This highlights not only the range of events available in the Community Games but also the range and depth of talent in Glenflesk.

There were many fantastic performances at local, county and national level culminating in silver medals in Judo and Projects at the national finals in August. While we are delighted and celebrate these performances the focus of the Community Games is on participation rather than winning. The aim is for children compete in friendly rivalry, in a fun and healthy way. Our aim is to encourage as many children as possible in Glenflesk to get involved and enjoy the events.

2017 marks the golden jubilee of the Community Games and once again we aim to have as many children participating in as many events as possible. However for this to happened we need the support of as many parents as possible to help out as committee members or as mentors.

We are holding our AGM on Monday 10th October 2016 at 8.30pm in the kitchen in Glenflesk GAA hall. The range of events covered by the community games can be viewed at communitygames.ie so if you have an interest in any of the events or can get involved in the committee please come along to the AGM or let us know of your interest.

Many thanks for your continued support.
