The Kerryman (South Kerry Edition)

SEAT Ateca, state of the art in style

-

THE SEAT Ateca, the first SUV in the history of the Spanish brand, has received great reviews since its launch and it’s just about to get one more.

The Ateca is a superb, state-of-the-art car, and in the words of the marque it has ‘been designed to make driving an absolute pleasure and its full connectivity will appeal to customers who enjoy technology’.

It has plenty of kerb appeal too, right from its triangular LED running lights and a sculpted angular shape that’s as cool as its LEDs.

The SEAT Ateca XCELLENCE offers wireless phone charging and KESSY, a keyless entry with start system as standard – so convenient and brilliantly thought through.

Full LED Headlights, multi coloured ambient interior lighting that adjust to suit the drivers mood and welcome lights in the wing mirrors ensure that the ATECA looks every bit as good as it drives. A full leather interior, an 8-inch colour touch screen media system and heated front seats add to the sense of luxury offered by the ATECA.

Prices for the SEAT Ateca XCELLENCE start at €31,120, although the road test model, an XCELLENCE 2.0 TDI 150hp four-wheel version costs a shade under €35,000.

Provided by official SEAT dealers, the Enniscorthy Motor Company, the Ateca is the perfect car for every day urban life. Its design is self-confident and refined, while its high-quality interior makes every trip a true pleasure. The extensive package of state-of-the-art assistance systems and technology improves safety and comfort making the ATECA one of the most innovative SUVs in its segment. Outstanding quality, precision production and very attractive value-for-money mean the ATECA is the perfect package.

The Ateca is a lovely car to drive, comfortable, powerful, economical and safe - it has just received the highest score in the Euro NCAP test programme. The Ateca received an excellent classification in each of the categories included in the Euro NCAP tests, with particular emphasis on adult passenger and child safety, as well as in pedestrian protection and driver assistance systems.

The test car was fitted with a silky smooth six-speed manual gearbox and with reverse engaged so too was the ‘park pilot’ system with its rear-looking camera.

The Ateca is available in a choice of 1.0TSI 115hp and 1.4 TSI 150hp petrol engines or 1.6TDI 115hp and 2.0TDI 150hp or 190hp diesel engines and is economical in fuel consumption across the range and with manual - as in the test car - or DSG transmissions.

It comes in three trim levels, S, SE and XCELLENCE.

Another example of the available technology is the ‘welcome light’, while LEDs in the exterior mirrors illuminate the area close to the doors, projecting the ATECA’s name and silhouette onto the ground.
