St Olivers army and St Johns battle for top spots

IN the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Urban two league St. Oliver’s Ballycashe­en, Killarney and St. John’s Kenmare are vying for top placed finishes and will face CBS Tralee or Naomh Eoin Balloonagh, Tralee in the semi-finals this week.

Gaelscoil Faithleann Cill Áirne will face Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn Trá Lí in the first of the urban three semi finals while Gaelscoil Aogáin, Oileán Chiarraí will take on Arfdfert in the second.

In the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol 6/8 Teacher competitio­n the round robin series of games are almost complete in all groups and in the first semi final Fossa will face Cahersivee­n and Duagh appear to best placed in the north to take on either Spa or Ó’Bréanainn in the second semi-final.

IN Castleisla­nd District, Currow NS defeated both Scartaglin NS and last year’s Allianz Cumann na mBunscol 4/5 teacher county champions Nohoval NS to qualify for the quarter-finals.

Other schools through to quarter-finals include Aghatubrid NS who reached the 2015 county final, Castlegreg­ory NS, Loreto NS and Knockaderr­y NS. Final round games will be played in Mid Kerry, North Kerry and St. Brendan’s Board this week to complete the line-up. SCOIL an Fhirtéarai­gh defeated Castledrum in their quarter-final and will take on North Kerry representa­tives Buailín Siar in the first semi this week.

On the other side of the draw the quarter final pairings will see Knockanes NS take on Réalt na Mara Tousist and Moyvane or Knocknagas­hel will play South Kerry champions Scoil Naomh Iosef, Portmagee.

In the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol 2 Teacher competitio­n three quarter finals will be decided this week.Loughfoude­r take on Kilconly. Glenflesk will face Bonnane while Scoil An Clochán will meet Caherdanie­l at a Mid Kerry venue.
