Mens On Sunday we had the semi-finals and final of the Autumn League. The format was 3 matchplays made up of 1 Singles, 1 Scotch Foursomes and 1 Fourball.

In the first semi final Mark Culhane lost to Enda O’Halloran 5 & 4. The fourball of Ger Lynch and Brian McGrath beat Joseph O’Connor and Padraig Dineen 6 & 5. The deciding game was the scotch foursomes where Vincent Linnane and John Paul Leahy beat Noel Gilbride and John Dineen 1up.

In the second semi final John Maunsell beat John Lohan 1up. In the scotch foursomes Declan McCann and Tomas Flahery beat Pat Dillane and John Barrett 1up. The fourball of Ger Fitzgibbon and Edmond Harty were all square with Maurice McElligott and Mike Hayes when called in on 16.

In the final in the afternoon Mark Culhane beat John Maunsell 2 & 1. In the scotch foursomes Vincent Linnane and John Paul Leahy lost 7 & 6 to Declan McCann and Tomas Flaherty. This meant the final came down to the fourball which was won 1up by Ger Lynch and Brian McGrath beating Ger Fitzgibbon and Edmond Harty. The Aumumn League was kindly sponsored by John and Marian Barrett.

For those not in the spring League there was an 18 Hole single Stableford competitio­n 1st Brendan Harty (C) (22) 42 pts 2nd Earl Mc Mahon (7) 41 pts. Next Sunday is the first round of the Christmas Hampers which will be run over 5 Sundays. The format of the competitio­n will be run the same as the Golfer of The Year.
