Under 17s face trip to UL

-

SSE AIRTRICITY UNDER 17 SHIELD Limerick FC v Kerry Sunday October 16 UL 2pm

KERRY have been handed a tough draw in the under 17 shield away to Limerick FC.

Their record is not good against the Shannonsiders and they lost twice to them in the League. However, their know their strengths and weaknesses by now and will be hoping they can come up with a surprise result.

There is nothing to suggest that Kerry have a chance of winning this game and it will be a major surprise if they beat a formidable Limerick side who finished mid table at the end of the season. However, Kerry wont be travelling just to make up the numbers and if they play to their full potential they should give them a good run for their money.

Karl O’Sullivan went back to his own club in the transfer window and that has weakened the team enormously as he was such an influential player. It has been a tough campaign in the Under 17 league for Kerry all season but they have always kept their heads up and gave their best for the pride of the county.

Eleven of Kerry’s panel of players will be underage again next season and that augurs well for the team as the experience gained this season should benefit them enormously.

The winner of this game on Sunday will face Mervue United or Longford in the semi final.
