ATHLETIC made it three league wins on the trot and they sit at the top of the table after an easy win over Inter Kenmare. Shane Lynch bagged a hat trick, William Courtney scored a brace while Darren Mulcahy completed the scoring for the winners.

FENIT signaled that they will be serious title contenders this year after a susprising­ly easy win over Rattoo Rovers on Friday night. Ivan Parker 2, Bill Mullins, Bobby O’Regan and Ryan Dolan scored for the seasiders.

AC’S scintillat­ing run of form continued on Sunday registerin­g a whopping seven goals in a game they won without breaking sweat.

John Buckley was the top marksman with a hat-trick, Joseph Diggins scored twice while Conor Diggins was also on the mark for the Causeway side. They now are unbeaten with 10 points from four games and it looks as if they are the team to beat in this division this season.

Ballymac Galaxy 1 Skeliga FC 4

PAT Cournane gave Skeliga the lead after 20 minutes when his cross went all the way to the net.

However, Ballymac rallied and got the equaliser before half-time. Skeliga tore into their opponents in the second half with man of the match Pat Cournane restoring their lead with a fine strike.

Chris Farley and Niall Fitzgerald compounded their victory with further goals to toss Skeliga’s hat into the ring as title contenders.

MUNSTER JUNIOR CUP 1ST ROUND Castleisla­nd 1 Killarney Celtic 3

THE clash of the two big heavyweigh­ts did not disappoint but it was Celtic who came away with victory.

Joe Hurley put them ahead and it was 1-0 at half-time. A brace of goals from Cathal O’Shea in the second half wrapped up the game for Celtic.
