34th National Dairy Show

-

ON Saturday, October 22 the 34th National Dairy Show will take place in Millstreet with animals coming from the four corners of the island once again being primed for a tilt at the €30,000 prize fund that is on offer at the Green Glens.

This includes the Jersey breed, which has broadened the appeal and has contributed handsomely to the number of exhibitors and the number of cattle on display on the day

This year’s show is being promoted as a family event and for the first time will have a ‘food village’ where artisan and traditional foods from the region will be on display with the opportunity to sample and purchase on the day.

The Miniature Farm Display has attracted huge interest over the years, especially for the young enthusiast, and it will once again form part of the programme, along with bouncy castles, face painting and exotic animals.

The event is attracting an ever increasing demand for trade stand space and last year over 100 stands, all relevant to the dairy industry, exhibited on the day. This presents a wonderful platform for exhibitors and a chance for farmers to engage and see a great variety of up to the minute technology and developments available on the market

The Innovation Award goes from strength to strength and continues to grow in popularity as it allows innovative products and ideas a “shop window” to display their designs to an appreciative audience.

The Lifetime Achievement Award is also always eagerly anticipated and is dedicated to a person or persons who have made a major contribution to the pedigree industry and some household names have received the award over the years.

The AI industry is very much a central theme at this year’s show and all the AI companies have been invited to participate in a Bull Mother and Progeny Display at the show

Kelliher Feeds & Agri Supplies, in association with Cidlines, are once again sponsoring The Best Overall herd on the day and invite you to visit their trade stand display to discuss the latest and most effective farm hygiene solutions for your farm.
