Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn 3-15 Gaelscoil Aogáin 0-6

IT was a third title in a row for a talented Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn fifteen in the Allianz Cumann na mBunscol Division 3 Urban Championship. The footballers of Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn gave a five star performance in Austin Stack Park on Monday to claim their third title in a row in this category and judging from their performance they will be firm favourites to claim back to back Division One titles.

They were physically stronger than their gallant Gaelscoil Aogáin opponents and they matched this with excellent fast flowing football which resulted in first half dominance in all sectors to lead 3-7 to 0-0 at the interval. They ran out comfortable winners in the end but full credit to the Gaelscoil Aogáin boys who fought and competed to the end.

Gaelscoil Aogáin were worthy finalists having topped their southern section and winning their semi-final comfortably. In Conchúir Mac Uilicím they had an outstanding goalkeeper who effective numerous top drawer saves.

Séamus Pléamonn, Jack Ó Géiní, Maitiú Ó hArgáin, Redmond Ó Chonchúir , Jack Ó Conaill and half time substitute Fionn Breathnach performed well but they had top performers at midfield through Rian Ó Duinneacha and the outstanding Ger Ó Brosnacháin who contributed five second half points.

For Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn twins Ciarán and Seán Ó Chon- chúir, Tomás ó Flaibhín, joint captains Cian ó Neill and Cian Ó Duilleáin, Andriú De Bhailís, Edward Mac Síthigh and Seán Ó Chonaill were in outstanding form but the performance of left half back Jeaic Ó Dúghaill was a joy to behold, anticipating, winning and distributing possession throughout the encounter. Jeaic was simply awesome as his side ran out victors on a final score of 3-15 to 0-6.

Edward Mac Síthigh and Seán Ó Conchúir with 1-4 and 1-6 respectively were the top marksmen on view.
