AC extend unbeaten run to five

AC Athletic stretched their unbeaten run in the new season to five games after a hard earned win over Classic FC. It was 1-1 at half time with Stephen Goggin scoring for AC. Towards the end it appeared to be heading for a draw but two late goals from Joseph Diggins and Colin Sheehy insured the Causeway side picked up the three points. Jonathan Loughnane was the Classic scorer.

Ballyheigu­e Athletic 2 QPR 2

THE sides here had to settle for a point each after the game ended all square. Kevin Walsh and Frankie Flaherty scored for Ballyheigu­e.

Killarney Celtic B 2 Camp United 4

CAMP United claimed maximum points after getting the better of Killarney Celtic in a keenly contested game. Johnny O’Driscoll, Genie Farrell (penalty), Gearoid O’Shea and Vincent Herlihy scored for the West Kerry side while Vladimer Sirotiak scored both Celtic goals.

Castleisla­nd B 4 Killorglin 2

THE clash of the two title contenders was a close affair but table toppers Castleisla­nd came out on top and remain two points clear at the top of the table. Pa O’Rourke, Jonathan Downey, Steven McCarthy and Sean O’Connell scored for the winners.

Ballyhar Dynamos 1 CG Killarney 0

BALLYHAR’S purple patch continued with another win this time over CG Killarney who have started the season poorly. The goal that won the game was scored after 30 minutes by Dillon Carey. Best for the winners were Brian O’Sullivan, Adrian Courtney, Dan O’Shea, Niall McCarthy, Shane O’Donoghue and Padraig O’Connor.

DENNY DIVISION 1B Sporting Listowel 2 Classic FC B 0

SPORTING Listowel made it three wins on the trot after a good victory over Classic FC. Robbie O’Hanlon and Stephen Foran scored for the winners.

AC Athletic B 2 Inter Kenmare B 1

AC’S 100% record remains intact after another win against Inter Kenmare. Both goals were scored by John Mike Dooley.

DENNY DIVISION 2 Ballybunio­n FC 3 Clanmauric­e 4

THIRD placed Ballybunio­n entertaine­d joint table toppers Clanmauric­e and it was a very closely contested affair with Clanmauric­e getting the three points in a sev- en-goal thriller. Adrian Quirke (2), Kieran O’Grady and Cathal Kearney scored for the winners. John Langham (2) and Jamie Culloty scored for Ballybunio­n.

Ballyheigu­e Athletic B 2 Windmill United B 5

NEW kids on the block Windmill United B were in great scoring for rattling home five goals for a comfortabl­e victory. Liam Poff (2), Brendan Poff, Danny O’Sullivan and Brandon Byrne were on the mark for Windmill. Nick Critch scored both of Ballyheigu­e’s goals.

Tralee Bay FC 1 Abhainn Li 1

IN a good competitiv­e game the honours were shared at the end of the day. Ian Flaherty scored for Tralee Bay and Brandon Byrne got the Aghainn Li goal.

DENNY U-17 LEAGUE Killarney Celtic 2 Tralee Dynamos 0

KILLARNEY Celtic picked up the three points with a brace of goals from Keelin Deegan sufficient to win the game.

Castleisla­nd 1 St Brendan’s Park 1

THE Park won this game comfortabl­y and the star of the show for the winners was David Oba who bagged four goals while Aaron Ward completed the scoring for the Tralee side.

Killorglin 3 Killarney Athletic 4

IN a seven-goal cliff hanger Killarney Athletic took the spoils in a very competitiv­e game.

Listowel Celtic A 13 Listowel Celtic B 1

NEITHER side learned much from this Listowel town derby with Celtic A taking their B side to the cleaners scoring 13 goals.
