WEDDING BELLS

Congratula­tions and all best wishes are extended to Anne Marie O’Connell, daughter of Eileen and Denis J O’Connell of Knockeenah­one and John Lyons, son of Helen and Christy Lyons of Knockardtr­y who were married on Saturday, October 8, in Our Lady of Lourdes Church Scartaglin. The celebrant of the nuptial mass was Fr Jim O’Connell, uncle of the bride. Anne Marie and John will live in Castleisla­nd.

INTERNET SKILLS FOR FARMERS

Kerry Education and Training Board are organising a series of courses to introduce farmers to internet skills. The courses will show farmers how to send/ receive E – mails, apply online for farm payments and other department schemes, search useful sites (weather forecast etc, online registrati­on of calves, vehicle taxation). The aim is to make farmers more comfortabl­e using the internet. NIGHT AT THE DOGS

Recovery Haven Tralee do a lot of good work for people recovering from illness especially illnesses of a serious nature such as cancer etc. The centre is holding a Fundraisin­g Night at the Dogs at the Kingdom Greyhound Stadium Tralee on this Saturday night, October 29. This is a very important fundraiser for Recovery Haven and all support will be very much appreciate­d. Tickets for the benefit meeting cost €10.

STYLE AND FUN NIGHT

Scartaglen Ladies’ Football Club are organising a fundraisin­g Night of Style and Fun featuring Joan Cashman of ‘Colour and Image Academy Cork’ which will be held in the Heritage Centre on Friday night, November 18,, commencing at 8 p.m. Tickets for this event are now on sale cost €10. The club is seeking people to sponsor spot prizes on the night and would welcome any support in this respect. This can be done by contacting any club member.

HALLOWEEN DISCO

Scartaglen National School parents’ council committee are organising a fundraisin­g Halloween Disco in the Heritage Centre Scartaglen on this Friday night, October 28, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Young children form the general locality are welcome and there will also be spot prizes on the night.

CHRISTMAS CRAFT FAIR
