DRAGONS’ Den star and leading Irish entreprene­ur Gavin Duffy has been announced as the special guest and keynote speaker at The Kerryman Business Awards ceremony.

The awards – which will recognise the best and brightest in Kerry’s business world – will take place at The Ballygarry Hotel and Spa in Tralee on Friday, November 25.

Leading Kerry businesses will be recognised across nine categories with one winner to be selected from three finalists in each category on the night.

The categories include Best New Business, sponsored by Peever Sly Cotter; Best Retail Premises sponsored by McCarthy Insurance; Best Customer Service sponsored by AIB; Best Environmen­tal and Heritage sponsored by Ballygarry House Hotel; Best innovation in Business sponsored by Enterprise Ireland; Best Tourism sponsored by GoKerry.ie; Best Community Enterprise, NEWKD; Social Corporate Responsibi­lity sponsored by Pulse Learning and Best Rural Business sponsored by NEWKD.

There will also be three special recognitio­n awards presented on the night.

These awards will be presented to an individual­s or organizati­ons who have demonstrat­ed an ambition to strive for excellence and to serve their customers and their community to an exceptiona­lly high standard.

The awards night – which will be hosted by broadcaste­r and former Rose of Tralee Maria Walsh – promises to be one of the glitziest nights in the Kerry business calendar and it will also provide an excellent opportunit­y to network with some of Kerry and Ireland’s leading entreprene­urs.

As keynote speaker Gavin Duffy will outline some to the secrets to his success.

Duffy – who has appeared on every series of RTE’s Dragons Den – got his start in business when he founded Ireland’s first licensed local radio station LMFM he went on to found leading media and management consultanc­y mediatrain­ing.ie and he is also part owner of the HRM group one of Ireland’s largest recruitmen­t firms.
