Christmas starting on a stylish note

IT’S that time of year again: the sixth Christmas in Killarney Designer Fashion Event is set for the Europe Hotel on November 17, and organiser Norma O’Donoghue cannot wait.

The event has been hugely successful over the last few years, and it’s now established as one of the highlights of the fashion season. Hosted by Norma O’Donoghue Model Agency, the event is billed for the hotel’s Panoramic Restaurant, and Norma says guests will be treated royally.

“On arrival, you’ll be greeted by none other than TV personality Noel Cunningham, and we’ll have well-known pianist Jack Patrick Healy present to play a few festive numbers as the perfect accompaniment to champagne and canapés,” Norma said.

“Following this, guests will be invited to the restaurant for a sumptuous meal with wine, after which our Parisian style fashion show will begin.”

This year’s line-up is an impressive one. The wonderfully talented Helen Cody opens the show, and a huge range of designers including the likes of Marion Murphy Cooney, Claire Garvey, Tina Griffin, Carol Kennelly, and many more will have their acclaimed works showcased.

“The designers at the centre of this year’s show are some of the very best in the country, and I’m delighted they all wanted to take part in what has become one of the top fashion events of the season” Norma told The Kerryman.

On the night, each lady will receive a goody bag worth €50, while the Keanes Jewellers Best Dressed Lady will receive a piece from the Keanes collection. A raffle will also take place, offering a range of delightful prizes, and Jack will entertain all the attendees into the wee hours at the after-party in the residents’ lounge.

Tickets cost €100 and are on sale at the Europe Hotel. They can be obtained by phoning the hotel at 064 6671300, or Norma at 089 7046006.
