A moment to savour for Fossa captain Domnall

- BY TIMMY SHEEHAN

HAVING soldiered for over a decade through thick and thin last weekend ‘s success was the icing on the cake in what was a season to savour for the team captain Domnhall O’Sullivan.

“Absolutely massive, I never thought I would see this day. Played with the club for seventeen odd years, and, this is our biggest day. It was tough out there, but, we knew if we kept at it we would eventually push it home, and we did it at the end. We felt we didn’t play to our potential the first day. We knew there was more in us, we upped our game a bit, we knew we could.

“Beale are a tough team, a good Championship team, they won the North Kerry Championship two years ago, nothing easy with them, we knew we could up our game by ten per cent or more, and, if we did we were in with a great chance today. They (goals) were absolutely vital, we could have got one or two more, we have been scoring goals all year, that’s the kind of team we are.

“It’s been a great year, a great year from start to finish, so, it’s onwards and upwards from here. He (John Evans) is a great man, his dedication, commitment, is absolutely unbelievable, what he has put into us, and we responded well to it, he instilled a great work ethic into us, you can see there today everybody is working hard, that’s John Evans imprint on the team.

“Celebration, now for a few days, we will enjoy this one, it’s been a long, long time coming.”
