The Kerryman (South Kerry Edition)
DROMID PEARSES
SOUTH KERRY CHAMPIONSHIP QTR FINAL: Piarsaigh Na Dromoda vs Skellig Rangers on Saturday November 12th at 3pm in Pairc An Phiarsaigh.. Bigi Linn! STRICTLY COME DANCING came alive at the Sealodge Hotel in Waterville last Saturday night to a full house. Hats off to the club’s officers, club members and players for organizing and running a truly memorable night’s entertainment at the Sealodge Hotel in Waterville last Saturday night. The funds raised on the night for Piarsaigh na Dromoda will certainly ease the pressure on the club’s finances for this year at least. There were representatives from the various clubs in South Kerry which gave the night a competitive edge. The master of ceremonies was Kerry Radio’s Ger O’ Connor who set a professional tone to the evening. The judges on the night were Toireasa Ferris, Declan O’ Sullivan and Norma Moriarty and they were equally professional in their critiques of each dancing couple. Indeed their comic banter throughout the evening gave the show’s guest star comedian Bernard Casey a run for his money. There could be no doubt in anybody’s mind that it was the dancers that ensured that the entertainment provided was top drawer. The effort put in by each couple under the guidance of Lorraine Andrews was clearly evident on the night. They were all winners on the night but Padraig Jackie O’ Sullivan and Cathy O’ Donnell were the judges first choice while Paula Brennan and Mike O’ Shea were the winners of the public vote. It is a night that will be remembered for many years to come. It was strictly fantastic.
