The Kerryman (South Kerry Edition)
Hands are shaky and knees are weak.. ISK pupils are ready to shake it all up
IT’S the Intermediate School Killorglin’s biggest drama production in a decade.
All Shook Up will hit the CYMS Hall in Killorglin for three nights from late November, and production team member and ISK teacher Padraig Creedon told The Kerryman it’s going to be no small undertaking.
“We have more than 70 students from second year upwards involved with this, so it’s a massive production,” Padraig said.
“We’ve staged dramas at the ISK over the last four years, but this is the biggest we’ve had in about ten years - by a distance.”
The shows take place over three consecutive nights. The first performance is billed for Wednesday November 30, and the run will continue to December 2.
With show-time fast approaching, the students could be forgiven for being a bit nervous, but Padraig is confident all will be fine on the nights - and with good reason.
“The production team has been planning this since May, and our performers have been practicing hard with weekly rehearsals since September; they’ve put everything into this and will continue to do so over the next three weeks” he explained.
“We’ve also had the Fiona Crowley Stage School providing us with expert guidance, so I think we’ll be able to get over the nerves, and you can be sure the students will put on a great show for everyone.”
Tickets for the spectacular show range from €10 to €13, and can be purchased from the school’s office or the host venue Killorglin CYMS.
You can also pay at the door on the nights of the shows, but Pádraig is anticipating strong ticket sales and encourage people to make sure their place early.
