Garvey’s Tralee popping the bubbly!

- By FERGUS DENNEHY

THE staff at one local drinks purveyor had very good reason to start popping their own stash of celabratory champagne this past week after they were awarded the very prestigious honor of being named the 2016 Off Licence of the Year.

Garvey’s Supervalu in Tralee were the big winners at the awards ceremony last week as they were presented with a plaque to commemorate the great achievement of being named the best off-licence in the country.

The win tops off a great time for the store whose work and dedication to their job has been a hallmark of the outlet for many years now. The store has never been busier following a massive facelift earlier this year, something which members of staff say was a crucial factor in the off-licence clinching the much coveted title this week.

“We’re absolutely delighted to have won the title; this is the 14th year that Garvey’s Supervalu Tralee have been in the finals of Off-Licence of the Year and finally we’ve gotten over the line,” said Sandra Lynch, one of the mangers of the store, talking to The Kerryman on Tuesday.

“The big difference between this year and other years is the re-vamp that we have undertaken of the whole store;there’s been a €2.2million investment in the shop and lot of that was centred around the off-licence, we’ve got that ‘WOW’ factor about the place now!” Sandra finished.
