Kilmoyley aim to make history in Munster Club Championship
ALL Kerry hurling eyes will be on Mallow this Saturday where Kilmoyley take on Lismore (Waterford) in the final of the Munster Intermediate Club Hurling Championship. The game commences at 2pm.
This is a historic first final at this level for Kilmoyley and they carry the hopes and best wishes of all hurling supporters from the Kingdom.
They face a very strong Lismore outfit, powered by All-Star winners Dan and Maurice Shanahan, together with Ray Barry and current Waterford senior panellist, Padraig Prendergast.
Lismore have defeated Bandon (Cork) and Newport (Tipperary) on the way to the final so will prove very tough opposition.
A Kerry club has yet to win this title. Ballyduff reached the finals of 2011, going down to Effin (Limerick) by 0-14 to 0-11 and 2012 when they lost to Silvermines (Tipperary) by 0-14 to 0-8. So here’s hoping for third time lucky this time.
