U-13 NATIONAL CUP

Avenue United 0 Park 6 THE South West rounds of the Uneven Ages in the Skechers National Cup came to an end yesterday with a stand out performanc­e from The Park U-13s.

They have qualified for the Last 32, which is the Open Draw, and are also one of the five into the new Regional competitio­n. The Park are away to Moneypoint in Clare with a home semi-final the prize.

In this weekend’s game away in Clare the Park were much too strong for Avenue with goals from Colin Doody, Samuel Aledasanus­i and two each from Messiah Cirwah and Cianan Cooney.

Also in the uneven ages Killarney Celtic have qualified for the Last 32 open draw and in the Regional competitio­n they play Nenagh away in the first round with a home draw against Limerick FC in last semi-finals the reward for the winners.

The final round of the Even Age South West qualifiers take place this weekend with a number of Kerry sides looking to progress to the Last 32.

FAI WOMEN’S U-14 NATIONAL CUP

LISTOWEL Celtic have progressed to the last 16 of the FAI Women’s U-14 Girls Cup thanks to an impressive 5-1 over Carragilin­e. Jade Harkin hit three with Aoife Horgan netting twice. Listowel Celtic are away to Kilmore in the next round in early January.

While the Killorglin girls found Wilton United too strong it was great to them taking part in their first FAI Women’s competitio­n. There were a number of good performanc­es with Shauna Broderick and Siofra Foley standing out.

The League is delighted to welcome Killorglin FC into the Girls competitio­ns.
