The Kerryman (South Kerry Edition)
Laser hair removal at Final Dimensions
I’M honoured to be nominated for the Kerry Business Awards representing the rural fringes of the Iveragh Peninsula. As a businesswoman, my salon Final Dimensions, has humble beginnings from 2000, in a single room in my home.
My son was born in 2003, and with my talented husband Michael we built a garage that was transformed into the salon currently in use as a Beauty, Massage & Hair Salon with Sauna & Jacuzzi for private hire. I worked hard networking in the local and surrounding areas to build a client base, taking computer courses to create a business able to survive in a social media world, and begin utilising new venues of technology to establish communications, along with newspaper and radio advertising.
In 2009 I studied at home and in Birmingham to qualify as a foot health practioner. I began this work in the salon, and now host clinics in local community centres from Killarney to Waterville and schedule home visits with people unable to attend.
Listening to my staff and clients I continue to evolve and train and incorporate new services not available in our rural area. My latest purchase is a laser hair removal machine, which will be to the delight of my clients as they have had to travel quite a distance for such a service in the past.
I believe that voluntary work is important, as it fosters connections, and uplifts all involved and those who benefit. I am proud to be active with our local GAA club, hosting coffee mornings, educating and fundraising for the blind, hospice and cancer organisations. Thank you to everyone for your support and encouragement. Final Dimensions will not stand still with further developement of the business in the coming year ahead, thanking the people of the great South and South West kerry areas for their continued support.
