Old world feel with modern ambition when it comes to menswear…

-

WHAT started out as a summer job for Jackie when he was just 16-years old, quickly developed into a lifetime love of menswear and customer service. Jackie Reidy is the man behind the name on the door and he’s as busy as ever these days measuring up customers and recommending the latest range of menswear on offer at his store in Main Street, Castleisland.

While repeat business is very much sought after in the retail trade; in Jackie’s case, it’s all about dealing with customers with a strong generational aspect which is indicative of the quality service he provides. Those of a certain age will remember Jackie as a very important part of the long established Hannon’s Menswear where in 2006 Jackie took over the reins of the business in what proved to be a very brave and audacious decision that has reaped rewards ever since.

But few business ventures reach their intended destination without effort and hard graft and Jackie believes a number of different elements are needed to keep one on the right track: knowing the trade, building up a rapport with customers, and providing an excellent service are among the key traits required.

Such qualities are not in short supply at Jackie’s Menswear, especially with Aileen McCarthy and Michelle Casey at the helm who support Jackie in the day-today running of the shop. Finally, the good news for customers looking to buy Christmas gifts - or those simply wishing to spruce up in time for the festive season - is that Jackie’s Menswear will be open on Sunday’s from 2pm to 6pm during December.
