MARRIAGE

Fr John Kerin P.P. Tuosist officiated at the marriage of Micheal son of Anne and Haulie O’ Shea of Canuig and “Scarriff Meats” and Roisin Mangan of Askeaton in St. Crohan’s Church Caherdanie­l on Friday November 25th. Aidan O’ Sullivan was Best Man with Groomsmen Denis O’ Sullivan, Conor O’ Neill and Oige O’ Connell. Niamh Barry was Matron of Honour with Bridesmaid­s Maire and Kate O’ Shea, Sinead O’ Connor, Siobhan and Aisling Guinan. Elva Mc Enery and Mia Ryan were the pretty flowergirl­s and Shay O’ Sullivan Page Boy. The reception was held in Parknasill­a Hotel and the newlyweds will live in Canuig where we wish them a long and happy life together.

DEATH

Sincere sympathy to Mary Concannon and to her children David, Orla and Grace on the death of her father David Sheil whose funeral Mass and burial were celebrated in Doneraile on Monday November 21st. Suaimhneas siorai da anam dilis.

Local podiatrist Emily Haworth volunteers with Simon homeless community in Cork city and does a foot clinic there. She is looking for sock donations- Sock pairs of all sizes appreciate­d, especially boy’s/men’s, and can be left at Waterville foot clinic on Mondays . Thank you!

2-DAY ANGLING FESTIVAL

Thirty four anglers took part and nearly 200 fish were landed, measured and returned. It produced it’s first ever female winner - Alison O’Sullivan from Tralee.

Alison beat all comers over the two days catching 13 fish to take the top prize and the trophy. Her son Finn made it double glory when he won the junior event.
