Keep your festive business in Cahersiveen this Christmas
WE all know how important it is to create jobs in a rural area and while this isn’t always an easy concept to transfer into reality, the one thing that can be achieved is the retention of existing jobs. That’s why this Christmas you should – where possible – keep your spending as local as possible to help support local businesses and the jobs they create.
The Chairman of Cahersiveen Traders Association, Rory McCarthy, is looking forward to another exciting time in Cahersiveen with all of the folks at home for Christmas. It’s been a challenging year for traders, locally, but optimism is always high among traders at Christmas and it’s vital we add weight to such optimism by keeping our spending local.
“Our big shopping day kicks off on December 8th which, I suppose, is still the traditional day for Christmas shopping. Things start quiet here but once the Christmas lights are turned on an atmosphere is created,” said Rory.
“We have a lot of people home for the Christmas holidays and this adds to the occasion as well. The local bars and restaurants also help create a good atmosphere and we just had a great Christmas launch here last week when the lights were turned on and it’s all systems go now.
“I would ask people to shop local as much as they can as this helps create and keep jobs here in Cahersiveen which is vital to the future of our town, as without their support business just wouldn’t exist. I would also just like to wish everyone a Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year.”
