Gavin and Nicola Ring to bring that festive feel to Cahersiveen Community Centre…
CATHERINE Cournane and the team at Cahersiveen Community Resource Centre are busy right now preparing for a magical musical event at the centre that will welcome Christmas and lots of festive cheer through the doors. There’s no better way to bring another busy year to a close than by relaxing to the sounds of Gavin and Nicola Ring, along with the talented students of Iveragh Music. It’s all for a great cause too, as Catherine explains:
“We have an exciting show laid on with the students from Iveragh Music, along with Gavin and Nicola Ring who are holding a concert called ‘A Carnegie Christmas’ which is being held on the 17th and 18th of December at 7pm here at the Community Centre.
“Gavin is a baritone and Nicola a soprano, so it promises to be a quality event when combined with the talented group from Iveragh Music. All proceeds are in aid of Cahersiveen Community Centre and Gavin and Nicola are really giving something back to the community by doing this for free.
“This is the first time Gavin has done a concert in aid of the centre and we’re looking forward to it. Hopefully it will draw a good crowd and tickets are €15 and concession of €10. The centre is the hub of the community and it’s very busy at the moment and it’s very well supported by the community it serves,” said Catherine, who is the Centre Manager at Cahersiveen Community Resource Centre.
