SYMPATHY

Sympathy is extended to our former Parish Priest Fr Joe Begley on the recent death of his brother John, Fermoy and Dingle. May he rest in peace.

COMUTER CLASS

A limited number of places are available for the Computer Class which will commence on Monday 9th January in the Rural Development Office from 7.309.30pm. This course will cover the Internet. Fee is determined by your personal circumstances. Places will be filled on a first come basis.

COMMUNITY ALERT

Meeting will take place in Anabla N.S. on Tuesday 6th December at 7.30pm, all are welcome. Also our Annual Church Gate collection will take place on Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th December. Please support generously.

PARENTS ASSOCIATION

Memory Tree will be lit on December 15th. Lights dedicated to your loved ones. They are available to buy from the Post Office, Rural Development Office, The Friary Office, School & Parents Association at a cost of €10.

CHRISTMAS CRAFT FAIR

Kilcummin Christmas Craft will be held on Saturday 10th December 6.30-8.30pm and Sunday 11th December 9.00-12.00pm. Crafts include Christmas Wreaths, Home baking (Christmas cakes, brown bread, apple tarts, Porter cakes, cupcakes), Jam preserves, Crochet hats, Wood Craft Christmas decorations & Art. A Hamper and spot prizes will be raffled on the day and ALL PROCEEDS from the raffle going to PALLATIVE CARE-Kerry.

WREATHS FOR SALE

Christmas Wreaths (Grave & Door) for sale or pre-order and collect in Kilcummin Recreational Hall on the weekend of the 10/11 at the Kilcummin Christmas Fair and 17/18 after 7.30pm & 11.15am mass. Grave Wreaths €10 & Door wreaths €13. Contact Mary at 087 6447536.

COMHALTAS NEWS

Kilcummin Comhaltas are presently inviting young musicians to contact us if they are interested in joining a music group within the Branch. This will be an ideal opportunity for young people to perform together at either competition or social events. Please contact Irene at the Rural Development Office if interested.

RAMBLING HOUSE

Kilcummin Rambling House will be open for its Christmas Special on Friday 16th December from 8.30pm. All welcome Fáilte isteach, Kilcummin Rambling House is supported by Kerry County Council’s Arts Office.

WEDDING CELEBRATIONS

Significant Wedding Anniversaries will be celebrated during the Vigil Mass on Saturday December 10th.

Any couples who were married in another Parish Church who are from Kilcummin or are resident in our parish are invited to join us. You and your family members are invited for light refreshments afterwards in the Recreational Hall. (Please contact Fr. John regarding candles)

MASTERGEEHA FC

U12 PREMIER: Park 1 Mastergeeha 1. In a close game the boys had to battle all the way. The home side started the better and went a goal ahead in the first half. In the second half Mastergeeha created some chances and got the goal when David O’Leary scored from the penalty spot.

U15 DIV 1: Mastergeeha 0 Park B 3. The lads lost out in this mid table battle having put in a fine first half performance but again failing to score the chances they created. They should have taken the lead on 20 mins but Lee Phelan’s goal bound shot was saved by the keeper and the keeper then made two good saves from Darren Lehane to keep Mastergeeha at bay. The Tralee side started on top in the 2nd half and scored 2 quick fire goals in the opening 10 mins to take control. Mastergeeha responded well with Philip O’Leary going close but as they pushed on Park B scored again to seal the win.

U17 - Mastergeeha 2 Listowel 2. In this game the visitors started the better and when a goal ahead after 15 minutes. Mastergeeha got the equaliser just before the break when Paul O’Shea scored from a free kick at the edge of the box. In the second half Listowel took the lead again. After this Mastergeeha pushed forward with Dylan Murphy and Niall Daly going close. With ten minutes remaining the boys got the equaliser when Anthony Darmody scored following a cross by Dylan Murphy. All played well.

PREMIER B: Killarney Celtic 3 Mastergeeha 2. In this local derby Killarney Celtic took the lead towards the end of the first half despite Mastergeeha creating some good chances. In the second half Mastergeeha pushed forward with Tom Templeman, Derry Ahern and Damien Breen all going close. However the home side doubled their lead with 20 minutes remaining. Mastergeeha pulled a goal back shortly after when Tommy O’Sullivan finished well. With Mastergeeha pushing forward for the equaliser the home side scored again on the break. Mastergeeha pulled a goal back in the closing stages when Colm Lenihan scored but they could not get the equaliser.

MASTERGEEHA FC LOTTO

There was no winner on Friday 2nd December, 2016. Numbers drawn were 11, 13, 14, 19.
