IN the U-18 Cup quarter-final last Sunday in Killorglin Sports Complex the home side bowed out to Templeogue by 12 points. Templeogue were first off the mark but Killorglin quickly followed suit Keelin Houlihan levelling the score. Liam Croke added to bring Killorglin ahead 7-2, another from Templeogue and a three from Liam we went ahead 10 to 4. But two quick threes for the travellers and it was all level with 6 minutes. From here Templeogue went ahead despite three-pointers from Keelin Houlihan and Liam Croke the quarter finished Killorglin behind 18-23.

The second quarter Templeogue adding to their score extending the lead to 30. But Keelin Houlihan and Eoin O’Sullivan rallied and found the net reducing the deficit to 5. The quarter continued with great intensity and atmosphere with the teams trading baskets David McCarthy and Liam Croke also scoring the first half finished Killorglin behind by 40 to 43.

The second half both teams were fighting for the win with great defence by both sides, while Killorglin only adding three points in the first seven minutes with Templeogue adding 12. The third quarter finished Killorglin 48 to Templeogue 61.

Templeogue finished the stronger team adding 8 points unanswered going ahead 48 to 61 but a valiant final few minutes by Killorglin reduced the deficit to 12 Eoin O’Sullivan finishing very strong.
