The Kerryman (South Kerry Edition)
Another year capturing the thrills and spills of life on camera for Christy
CHRISTY Riordan has been one busy man in 2016. At the start of the year Christy covered the Kerry Sports Star Awards in the Malton Hotel, Killarney. Christy also captured St Mary’s memorable march to All Ireland glory in the Munster and Intermediate championship; the ladies finals in colleges and underage, culminating in the Kerry U16 ladies winning for the second year in succession.
In August Christy made the long trip north to Donegal where he streamed live the All Ireland Coastal Rowing Championships for the second year in succession and he will once again be making his way back there in 2017. Returning closer to home again where Christy recently covered the South Kerry senior football final featuring St Mary’s versus Skellig Rangers and this is a championship Christy has covered closely for many years capturing many memorable and magical moments in South Kerry football.
In between all this, Christy finds time to record weddings and various other social functions and he recently captured on DVD the fun-packed evening when Strictly Come Dancing was hosted by Dromid GAA and many expert ‘dance moves’ have now been captured forever on DVD thanks to Christy. In the lead up to Christmas, Christy will be busy recording the vari- ous school concerts taking place throughout the South Kerry schools, yet all this is but a snapshot of the work Christy has done throughout 2016.
