Kathleen’s calendar captures memories of Cahersiveen and South Kerry

-

KATHLEEN O’Sullivan is the woman credited with tracking down some of Kerry’s most famous footballers spanning many generations to sign her book that helped raise thousands for charity at auction. Kathleen is once again parting with her fabulous range of creative ideas that will again go towards assisting some very worthy causes.

This year sees Kathleen’s 2017 calendar hit the shelves. But this is no ordinary calendar as the months of the year are represented by generations of people, places and events in Cahersiveen and South Kerry and would make a lovely addition to the homes of South Kerry folk, home and abroad. Kathleen chats to us about her project which she describes as a calendar “capturing the old and new” of Cahersiveen and South Kerry.

“I did a calendar for Christmas. It’s a local project with all pictures of local people. It’s designed and printed by Conlon Designs and proceeds from the calendar will go towards Cúnamh Iveragh mental health. I would like to thank Christy Riordan of C&R Videos and Liz Condon for their wonderful help and all the people of Cahersiveen and south Kerry who always support me.

“The photos capture old and new and people are already buying and sending them to America and elsewhere. There’s local families and people, while Killarney Railway station are also in it as they brought me along with them for the day when they won the ‘Best Station in Ireland’ award and there’s some lovely photos of that. There’s also photos of local shops and local businesses in Cahersiveen and many more local images covering places like Portmagee, Waterville, Foilmore as well as Cahersiveen.”
