COMMUNITY CENTRE MEALS
The Ballinskelligs Community Centre will resume Meals and Wheels on Monday the 9th of January and Meals will be in the Community Centre from Thursday the 11th of January.
A TRAINING COURSE
IN ROAD SAFETY A DATE FOR YOUR DIARY In Halla Pobail, Baile an Sceilg On Thursday, 19th January 2017 Time: 7:30pm (approx 2 hours) Cost: Free For: Local Groups / Associations in South Kerry Organised by Sceilg Le Cheile, Active Retirement Association The course will be delivered by Eileen Cunningham, of the RSA (Road Safety Authority). The Road Safety Authority has developed an educational programme for road users. Eileen Cunningham is the RSA Promotion officer for Limerick & Kerry and she will come to South Kerry to let groups know about the programme and how modules can be delivered to groups. The material consists of a Resource pack and DVD and this will be given to groups which participate in the information session. Groups then choose relevant sections for delivery to their particular group i.e. Pedestrian Safety & Cycle Safety, Tractor and Farm Machine Safety, Child Safety, Mobile Phone use Driver Fitness & Eyesight. The course would be of interest to members of Active Retirement Groups, GAA, Farming Associations, Sporting Bodies and other local development associations and it is recommended that 1/2 members would attend from these groups so that the programme will then reach a wider audience.
The Information / Briefing Training will be held in Halla Pobail, Ballinskelligs on Thursday 19th January 2017 will last approx 2 hours. The training and resource materials are free.
TRIBUTE DVD
A DVD is now for sale in Iveragh shops of the ceremonies of the 30th October in Waterville, where Heritage Iveragh commemorated the loss of Iveragh and Danish men in Ballinskelligs Bay in 1916 and all others lost in the Bay and also paid tribute to the rescue services of Iveragh.
