Killarney Celtic and Dingle primed to contest Premier A final

- DENNY PREMIER A

AS the KDL season progresses to a more advanced stage it is an appropriate time to take a look at the league tables and assess the prospects of the sides going for league honours.

The season has been going very smoothly so far from a fixtures point of view with no games being called off due to adverse weather.

Premier A is a bit lopsided as due to their successful run in the FAI Junior Cup, Killarney Celtic and Dingle Bay Rovers have a number of games in hand over the sides at the top of the table.

At present Killarney Athletic and Fenit Samphires lead the way at the top of the table and their nearest rivals are Killarney Celtic 7 points behind but they have only 4 games played.

Realistically it looks as if it will be between Killarney Celtic, Dingle Bay Rovers and Fenit with an outside chance for Kilarney Athletic and Tralee Dynamos.

Killarney Athletic have had a great start to the season under new manager Stuart Templeman and are joint leaders on 17 points with Fenit Samphires.

However they have not played the big guns yet and it is only after these games that their true credentials will be known.

Fenit went close to reaching the final last season and will be in the mix right up to the end again this season.

Tralee Dynamos have not started the season too well but they have signed some new players and with games in hand they should be in with a chance if they can turn around their season.

Castleisland have shown inconsistent form this season so far and it looks llike they will not be in the title hunt this season.

It is strange to see The Park propping up the division as usually there are fighting it out at the top of the table.

From what I have watched so far this season Dingle Bay Rovers and Killarney Celtic are the two best sides in the KDL at present and other teams will have to come up a major notch if they are to stick the pace with them.

Their only disadvantage is that they have had such success at outside competitions and they have games in hand on other sides but as everyone knows points on the table is what counts at the end. Prediction for final: Killarney Celtic and Dingle Bay Rovers

DENNY PREMIER B

THIS is turning out to be a very competitive division with any of four, or possibly five, teams capable of making it to the decider.

At present Castleisland is leading the way five points ahead of AC Athletic but a good few sides have games in hand.

AC Athletic appear to be their biggest challengers at present but have slipped a few points behind now after losing a couple of games in recent weeks.

Killorglin are also well positioned and should be right in there to the very end.

Camp United are also very much in touch and if they win their games in hand they will be right up there in contention.

Although they have ground to make up Mastergeeha and Ballymac Galaxy are also well in the hunt while Skeliga cant be ruled out of the equation either.

This division is unlikely to be decided until the final series of games.

Prediction for final: AC Athletic and Killorglin
