Juvenile cup finals on weekend

- Murt Murphy

THIS weekend sees 11 Cup/Plate finals take place in Killarney starting on Friday evening with Under 14 and Under 16 Boys Cup final.

In Under 14 Final St Marys play KCYMS. When these met earlier in the league St Marys proved to be too strong for KCYMS, but expect a different game on Friday. Gneeveguilla play St Marys in the Under 16 Boys Cup. In their league game only a basket separated them so expect a cracker here.

On Saturday St Marys play KCYMS in Under 18 Boys Cup. KCYMS got the upper hand in their league encounter, but St Marys are a great Cup side and this should be a close one.

Tralee Imperials face either St Marys or Kenmare Kestrels in Under 14 Girls Cup. St Marys are leading the way in the league with a very balanced team so hard to see beyond them. Cahersiveen play TK Vixens in Under 18 Boys plate. Cahersiveen are top of Under 18 Boys Division 2 and have beaten TK Vixens twice so Cahersiveen should come out on top here.

On Sunday St Brendans face either St Josephs or Rathmore Ravens in Academy Boys Cup. Rathmore Ravens have lost no game but hard to call this as there are two pools in Academy Boys and teams have not played each other in the league.

In Under 18 Girls Cup St Marys play either TK Cougars or Cahersiveen. St Marys have lost no game in league so are fancied here. In Academy girls Cup Glenbeigh Falcons play St Pauls. Glenbeigh Falcons are unbeaten and St Pauls have only lost one, but as these teams are in opposite pools its a hard one to call.

St Marys are very strong in Under 17 Girls so hard to see Glenbeigh Falcons causing an upset here. St Josephs proved way too strong for Gneeveguilla when they met in Under 18 Girls League earlier in the year.

We finish the Sunday with Under 16 Girls Cup between Cahersiveen and St Marys. St Marys are unbeaten in league and should have too much for Cahersiveen.
