SOUTHERN GAELS

Southern Gaels had their medal presentation night in Jan with an impressive number of cups on display, the u14 Munster cup, the Feile Cup, senior league and senior championship cups, The Sandra Keane Memorial Cup for an invitation annual blitz and both the u13 championship and u12 Div. 1 shields. Mayer’s Cronin was presented with senior player of the year award. Southern Gaels start the New Year with a new chairperson Sheila O’Connell secretary Lavinia Cunningham Treasurer Margaret Murphy Registrar Elaine O’Sullivan and u16 and Pro Brid Moran We would like to congratulate our out going chairperson Caroline Kelly on being chosen as the Kerry Senior Ladies captain for the year ahead. We wish the Kerry senior ladies with Caroline as their captain joined by Megan O’Connell, Anna Galvin, Elaine O’Sullivan, Linda Cronin and Clodagh Quinlan the very best for the year ahead. Kerry senior ladies played their first game in the national league against Cork in Mallow on Sunday. Unfortunately they came out on the losing side of this encounter conceding early goals, which they found hard to come back from. They face Dublin next weekend in Castleisland. Date and time tbc. We have another county captain this week at Southern Gaels Rachel Dwyer with the u14 Ladies joined with Shannon O’Donnell and Ellie O’Connell on the County u14 team for the year ahead. Siofra O’Shea will represent Southern Gaels on the County u16 team and the County minor team is still going trough trials. We wish all these girls playing with their County a very successful year ahead. Senior and u16 training has started and we welcome any new members. Underage will be starting soon with notices going to the schools shortly. Please save the date 1st April for a gold fundraiser in Dooks and we are having mixed doubles darts in Craineeens on Feb 25th
