1. ROBIN HOOD SET TO INVADE AND ENTERTAIN THE INEC IN KILLARNEY

PREPARE yourselves as the Killorglin Pantomime Group prepares to host an arrow flinging and swashbuckl­ing new play when it’s Robin Hood Pantomine swings into action at the INEC in Killarney for an exciting performanc­e on Sunday, February 5.

The age old tale of Robin and his merry men will be told this coming weekend in an exclusive oneoff show in the Killarney venue so make sure that you don’t miss out on this entertaini­ng night.

This performanc­e of the show will take place at 5pm in the evening with doors set to open at 4:30pm; tickets for this family friendly show are now available from the INEC (0646671555) or by contacting the Killorglin Pantomime Office itself on 066979096.

Prices vary from €17 for adults and €15 for children, students and OAP’s; book now and don’t miss out!

2. GET YOUR DANCING SHOES ON AT THE GRAND HOTEL THIS WEEK

THE Chernobyl Children’s Fun Tralee are this coming Wednesday, February 1, getting set to host the first of their weekly social dance nights in the Grand Hotel and they are encouragin­g as many people as possible to come along and a enjoy a great nights dancing while supporting a very worthy cause.

The charity run the dance nights in order to help meet the costs of bringing children from the nuclear disaster zone to Kerry for a holiday every summer.

The dances at the hotel start at 9pm every Wednesday night and run until 11:30pm; the cost of entry for each night is set at €8. These dances are a great way of beating those winter blues.

The line up for the month is as follows: Noreen Ashe (February 1), Ger Healy (February 8), Eddie Keogh (February 15) and Declan Augier (February 22).

3. PAT SHORTT TO SPLIT SIDES WITH LAUGHTER AT INEC IN KILLARNEY

ONE of the legends of Irish comedy is set to entertain the masses at the INEC in Killarney this coming weekend as he brings his ‘Hows Tings’ show to Kerry.

In a night of full of music and mayhem, Pat Shortt will explore all sorts of tings, personal tings and tings that are not so personal, important internatio­nal tings and tings that only affect the parish so make sure that you don’t miss out.

Taking place on the night of Saturday, February 4, doors are set to open at 7pm with the show itself set to start at 8pm; ticket prices are currently set at €31.20 and are available to buy from the INEC box office at 0646671555.

4. ROSE HOTEL TO HOST AN ENTERTAINI­NG FAMILY GAMESHOW NIGHT

IT’S game on at the Rose Hotel in Tralee this coming Saturday night as the venue is set as the venue for a competitiv­e and fiery night of family fun, all in aid of a worthy cause of course though.

The night will see a number of familes from all over Kerry, preparing to face off in aid of Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál, Lixnaw.

The gameshow on the night will be based off of the hugely popular television­s shows such as ‘Family Fortunes’ and ‘Mr & Mrs’.

Taking place from 8:30pm onwards on Saturday, February 4, this night is strictly over 18’s and ticket prices are set at €20; they are available from Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál Lixnaw, Foleys Gala Express and The Rose Hotel.

5. NOBODY IS GOING TO BE TALKING DURING THIS SIAMSA T ÍRE SHOW

IF you enjoyed the previous visit of the Crokey Hill Players to the Siamsa Tíre in Tralee, then you’ll love their return visit as they prepare for their performanc­e of ‘Nobody’s Talking To me’.

Taking place on Friday February 3 and Saturday February 4, this play tells the tale of Mattie and Maggie Conway as they prepare to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversar­y; however, what few people in the play know know that they haven’t spoken a word to each other in ten years and when the local priest decides to surprise them by calling to their house to renew their marriage vows

The show will kick off at 8pm and ticket prices are set at either €22 / €20; if you’ve a free few hours at the weekend, make sure that you come and check it out.

6. ATTEND THE WAKE OF TIM FINNEGAN THIS WEEKEND IN KILLORGLIN

BIDDY’S Day will see the return of the popular ‘Tim Finnegan’s Wake’ event for one more time only on the Feb 4th 2017 in Paud Neill’s bar on Langford Street in Killorglin.

The story of Tim Fennegan’s Wake is an age old tale now, having been retold and retold many times over the years; Tim Finnegan’s Wake features poetry, song, and a look at some of the odder customs relating to the Irish wake and is certainly one to check out if you can!

Taking place at 6:30pm on the night of Saturday, February 4, this FREE event should be excellent fun.

7. FESTIVAL ALL SET TO KICK UP A STORM OUT WEST IN DINGLE

THE people of West Kerry and Dingle will be brewing up a storm this coming weekend as they prepare to host the latest installmen­t of the Dingle Peninsula Storm Festival.

The festival, billed as a place where the forces of nature and culture collide, will see a number of events held in the Dingle and Castlegreg­ory areas this coming weekend from February 3 to February 5 including choir performanc­es and tour locations of the Dingle Peninsulas stormiest locations.

8. WALK AND TALK WITH GARVEY’S IN CASTLEISLA­ND THIS WEEKEND

IT’S all about promoting a positive mental health at Garvey’s Castleisla­nd this coming Saturday morning as their six-week ‘Walk and Talk’ programme continutes unabated.

This 5km walk, which leaves from outside Garvey’s in Castleisla­nd at 11am on the morning, looks set to continue again this weekend they prepare to walk in aid of Pieta House this week; this is the perfect way to get your Saturday off to a flying start so make you get up bright and early and join in the fun!

9. JOIN IN WITH THE TRALEE WEEKLY PARKRUN

FEBRUARY is here and we hope that people are still going strong; exercise and health are the in so why not try to head down to the Tralee Town Park this coming Saturday morning and take part in the weekly park run?

The 5km run/walk is completely free of charge and is a great way to start your weekend.

The morning is very well organised and supported and starts at 9:30am sharp every Saturday, so make sure that you pop down and try it out; you won’t regret it.

10. CROTTA GAA TO HOLD ITS FIRST SOCIAL IN 7 YEARS THIS WEEKEND

CROTTA GAA will host another one of its long awaited socials this weekend, its first in seven years and excitement is building already amongst locals.

The night will be held in Ballyroe Heights Hotel from 7:30pm to 2:30am and tickets are €40 and available from Kilfynn Post Office and Parkers.
