Energise event points the way to making the most of yourself
BY the close of the first ever Energise event late on Friday night, you could have heard a pin drop a mile away as all those gathered in the Ashe Hotel reflected on the truly wonderful night of inspirational speaking that they had just witnessed.
An event sponsored by and in association with The Kerryman, it was hard not to feel motivated after a night which featured high-profile speakers such as Operation Transformation’s Dr Eddie Murphy, Gerry Duffy, award-winning teenage blogger Zoe O’ Connor, Caroline McEnery and Dingle’s very own Shane Finn, all of whom donated their time and efforts voluntarily on the night and spoke on their own respective areas of overcoming anxiety, positive mental health, over coming adversity and being the best you can be.
“We were absolutely thrilled with how the night went, we really couldn’t have asked for better support from the speakers and we are grateful to everyone that showed up on the night,” said Kevin Finn, one of the organisers behind the night.
“We’re already looking at hosting another one. We haven’t decided on a date yet but after the positive feedback we’ve received on this event, we want to strike while the iron is hot,” he finished.
The event acted as a major fundraiser for a 2,150km charity race around Ireland in which Kevin and Dingle’s Shane Finn are actively involved.
The ‘Race Around Ireland’ is scheduled for Sunday, August 27 of 2017, with cyclists leaving Trim, County Meath at 3pm on the day; they will then have 96 hours to complete the mammoth challenge.
The beneficiary charity of the ‘Race around Ireland’ team is set to be Cycle Against Suicide.’
